モデレーター：THE BRIDGE (co-founder) 池田 将氏
The Bridge 共同創業者 兼 ブロガー。1990年代前半からシリコンバレーやアジアのインターネットビジネスの調査を開始。これまでに、産経新聞、インターネットマガジンなどにスタートアップやインターネット・サービスに関するコラムを連載。日本国内外の企業やスタートアップの異市場向け進出・参入をメディアの立場から支援している。

1996年：ソニー株式会社入社 商品・技術広報を担当、VAIOノートコンピューター商品企画および欧州向けビジネス企画・マーケティングに従事
2005年：マッキンゼー・アンド・カンパニー東京支社入社。
2007年：NetService Venturesに入社、日本事務所代表に就任。情報通信、事務機器、家電など多数の有力企業に向け新規事業創造コンサルティングプロジェクトを担当。シリコンバレーベンチャー企業の企画立案・トライアル実行・立ち上げ支援を「ハンズオン」で推進
2011年：シリコンバレーVCへの投資を通じて最先端のイノベーション動向を提供する戦略的ファンド・オブ・ファンズ「NSV Wolf Capital」の立ち上げに参画
2014年：NSVのリサーチ部門をスピンアウトしたVenture Scannerを共同創業者として立ち上げ
カルガリー大学商学部卒、INSEAD経営学修士（MBA）

Fireside chat: Silicon Valley culture: how to build an innovative ecosystem
There is a lot of envy towards Silicon Valley's culture and the fact that it has been the centre of tech innovation, but what are the key factors that make it so successful?
Is it possible to replicate that environment in Tokyo to support the growth of the fintech ecosystem here? What is necessary for Japanese startups to succeed in globally?

Our guest speakers Masaru Ikeda and Masami Kato will discuss how to build an innovative culture in Japan.

※The session will held be in Japanese, but QA and networking will be bilingual

Moderator: Masaru Ikeda, Co-founder of THE BRIDGE
Co-founder of The Bridge, one of leading media outlets covering the startup scene in Japan and the rest of the world. He started his career as a programmer/engineer, and previously co-founded several system integration companies and consulting firms. He’s been traveling around Silicon Valley, Europe and Asia exploring the IT industry and prominent startups.
Speaker: Masami Kato, Partner at Net Service Ventures
Masami started his career at Sony, where he was in charge of product planning and business for VAIO among other things, and then joined McKinsey & Co as a management consultant. He joined NSV in 2007 to provide high-tech consulting to Japanese enterprises, and also launched a strategic fund-of-funds called “NSV Wolf Capital” that invests into Silicon Valley VCs to provide cutting edge innovation trends to Japanese investors. He is also the co-founder of Venture Scanner. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.
